Dr Arantxa Echarte is an active artist and Researcher Consultant in the Arts. She Graduated with a PhD at the University of the West of England, Bristol, in 2012; PgDip in Research also from UWE in Bristol, an MA in Art and Design from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland; and a First Honours Degree in Fine Arts from the University of The Basque Country, Spain.
As a Research Consultant she specializes in developments in contemporary art in London (ie. the study of the studio sector and archival studies), knowledge transfer and research methods and methodologies (ie. academic methods and methodologies and SROI).
Her present artistic area of interest lies within anthropological and ethnographical study in view of the idea that anthropology reconstructs stages of social and cultural evolution through recording ways of life that rapidly change. As an artist she engages with places and people, immersing herself within specific ‘situations’ offered by the surrounding environment and developing what an ethnographer would call ‘field work’.(See www.arantxaecharte.com)
