Anuschka Kutz is a qualified architect, urbanist, designer and academic. Born in Berlin (Germany) she lives and works in London (UK) since 2002. She studied architecture at the Marchi in Moscow and the TU Berlin, graduating with a price-winning diploma in 1994. In 1997 she obtained a Master’s degree in History and Theory of Modern Architecture at University College London. Since 1997 she has taught at several leading institutions, including the TU Berlin, London Metropolitan University and Kingston University. She is currently Visiting Professor at KU Leuven, Gent (Belgium) and Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Brighton (UK). Prior to setting up her own practice she worked at a number of internationally renowned practices, including Zaha Hadid Architects and Michael Hopkins and Partners. In 2002 she founded OFFSEA (office for socially engaged architecture) together with Andrea Benze, with offices in London and Berlin. OFFSEA works on projects that fuse research and practice, with work located in the field of architecture, urbanism and art, with a focus on social engagement and participatory projects. Their projects won several awards and have been exhibited, funded and published widely.
