Angela Ruiz, is an architect professor, researcher and teacher.
She is founder and CEO of Atipical architecture, is a professor since 2006 in various universities and schools, and while working as an architect, directing his own architectural and collaborating with several international studies.
She works as a teacher of architecture and graphic design at IE University School of Architecture (www.ie.edu), in University Antonio de Nebrija (www.nebrija.es), at Polytechnical University of Madrid , School of Architecture, and the Madrid School of Decoration (www.esmadeco.es ). Also, she works leading workshops, symposiums and seminars in other International Universities.
Her academic and teaching background stands for its international dimension. she studied at the School of Architecture of Madrid, and at l'Ecole d'Architecture Paris La Villette, some years later she was researcher in the frame of European Doctorate at the University Paris VIII.
She started as a lecturer in 2004, in Laghouat (Algeria), with her project "Dune city in M'hamid", and has since then lectured and taught in several countries in multiple courses and seminars in cities like Nis(Serbia) Paris (France), Chania and Thessaloniki (Greece), Ekaterinburg (Russia), Kaunas (Lithuania), Lodz (Poland), BouSaada (Algeria), Valladolid and Madrid, and has participated in workshops in Sweden, Romania and Macedonia.
She founded Arysai architecture in 2001, leading projects and contests of various kinds. He has been working in Paris, with Lacaton & Vassal and Francois Roche (R & Sie). In Madrid she has collaborated regularly with JuanHerreros since 2006, and with CS Studio, working on projects in Angola, Morocco, Nigeria, Andorra, Equatorial Guinea and Cuba.
She is a member and CEO of a the blog ECOCOCOS, about Ecology and Sustainability (www.ecococos.blogspot.com )and NEREAS Research Group(www.nere-as.blogspot.com.)
At present, she is developing her doctoral thesis on "Strategies for Sustainable Development of Oasis. Case of M'hamid, Sahara Desert," where she leads a research project from a bioclimatic approach about the extreme conditions in desert architecture and the future of live in the desert. The final aim is to be applied in the real project in that village where she is involved.
