Formerly Principal Scientist with BG plc and Advantica Technologies in the UK, where I led research in fuel cells. My current research covers new and renewable energy technologies, sustainable and alternative energy systems; stationary power generation, co-generation and distributed power generation technologies; all fuel cell types, particularly SOFC, MCFC, PEM (SPFC), small-scale and micro-fuel cells. The use of fuel cells in transportation and mobile application; hydrogen generation, storage and transport, and hydrocarbon fuel processing. I am developing advanced fuel processing catalysts in collaboration with Gas Technology Institute in the USA and working with Ceramic Fuel Cells, Melbourne, on advanced solid oxide fuel cell technology. In 2004 I became Chairman of the Hydrogen Division of the Australian Institute of Energy, and also chairman of the 2008 World Hydrogen Energy Conference. I am currently Director of the National Hydrogen Materials Alliance
