I am currently a student in the Clinical Psychology Graduate Program at Laurentian University. My research background is in two areas of psychology: relational boredom and stress-eating. In the field of relational boredom I have conducted research to determine if motivational orientation affects one's perception of boredom in intimate relationships. Specifically, I investigated the effects of promotion motivation orientation on perceptions of relational boredom and relationship behavioral intentions. This research also investigated personality factors associated with relational boredom. In the field of stress and eating I have conducted a laboratory study that investigated the effects different types of stress exhibit on eating behavior and food choice. Specifically, I investigated the differential effects of attachment stress and achievement stress on eating behaviour and food preference in stress eaters and stress-under eaters. Currently, I am conducting a field study to investigate the effects of stress on eating behaviour and food preference in stress eaters and stress under-eaters. This study employs self-report methods using electronic portable devices to track daily food intake. The purpose of this study is to better characterize the two identified stress-eating populations. My interests are in overall health and wellness, healthy eating behaviors, and eating disorders.
