Alessandro Bertoni earned his Master degree on Management Engineering at Bergamo University in September 2009. Since April 2010 he is a PhD student at Luleå University of Technology. The main purpose of his research is to radically change the way Product/Service systems development is initiated, and to improve the existing systems engineering approaches by introducing economics in the decision making process, enabling optimum solution strategies to be instantiated during the conceptual and preliminary design stages, by adopting a value-driven perspective on product development. He is involved in the EU FP7 CRESCENDO project, aiming to develop the foundations for the Behavioural Digital Aircraft (BDA), taking part WP 2.2 concerning requirements establishment for the BDA. Alessandro’s actual research focuses on value assessment and value visualization during preliminary PSS design.
