I studied City and Regional Planning (major) and Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing (GIS/RS) between the year of 2000 and 2004 at the Department of City and Regional Planning at the Middle East Technical University (METU, Ankara, Turkey). I obtained my Master's Degree (on local economic development) from Institut d'Urbanisme de Paris Université Paris XII – Val de Marne at the end of 2005. At the same year, I returned to Middle East Technical University and started to work at the Department of City and Regional Planning as a research assistant and PhD student. In 2007, I moved to London where I am currently enrolled in PhD Planning Studies at the Bartlett School of Planning. I have two papers presented in international conferences. Noninternalized Urban Culture, AESOP Young Academics Network: CE3 Central and Eastern European Engagement Project, Bratislava, 7-10 February 2007; and (with Anil Senyel) Tracing Regional Differences on Urban Space: the case of Ankara, 42nd ISoCaRP Congress: Cities Between Integration and Disintegration, Opportunities and Challenges, Istanbul, 17-18 September 2006.
