Philosophy for Children to Promote Creative Citizenship in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Bogota: Development of Multidimensional Thinking from Philosophical and Artistic Relationships with the Temporary Exhibition ART-THINKING-CREATION and the People Who Inhabit the Museum Neighborhood

Abstract

This project is funded by the Colombian Ministry of Science and Technology and is based on qualitative research. Action has been developed since July 2019, where together with more than 100 children from different neighborhoods of Bogotá, parents and the educational community in general. The complexities that these populations live daily in their neighborhoods were problematized. From these relationships and thoughts arise 23 collective works of art with which the temporary exhibition ART-THOUGHT-CREATION is inaugurated at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Bogotá (17.02.2022 – 29.04.2022). The curatorial objective is to rethink the place of education in childhoods and how museums can contribute to a resignification of informal education. In this sense, intersubjective relationships are woven, where the museum leaves the museum itself to promote the construction of creative citizenship and the citizens themselves come to the museum to resignify it from the methodology of dialogue. Communities growth occurs in the style of Philosophy for Children. This workshop is presented as a space for creative dialogue around this methodology. A presentation of the topic will be made in the first 15 minutes and the last 30 minutes will be dedicated to active discussion, where questions are generated by participants and the development of perception and translation skills are developed.
