Abstract
This paper explores profiles of elderly visitors in Brazil focusing on the cultural, emotiona,l and sociodemographic characteristics and motivations of museum visitors sixty years and older. The collection of data is carried out in several museological institutions (of different typologies, administrations, and collections). Questionnaires were given to the museums to characterize the museological institution and to visitors sixty and more years. The information obtained through the application of the instrument will be subjected to descriptive statistical analysis that contributes to non-existent measurements. This research provides data of visitation or participation in activities in museums, because there is a gap and a demand within the cultural sector for the sustainable development of creative solutions for museums and partners to performance a social role of museums for the elderly. A study about museum visitors sixty plus does not exist in Brazil. Brazil intends to subsidize policies that help the practical implementation of socio-cultural and museological guidelines of inclusion of the visitors in museums, as privileged spaces of socialization, continuous learning, and reinforcement of citizenship. The insufficiency of data of this socio-demographic group has become eminent, taking into account the longevity and growth of this group in future Brazilian scenarios.
