Abstract

The paper is a summary of over three decades of research into the semiotics of American Religion, including the consideration of Religion as a category of Popular Culture. A major part of the study introduces proposed taxonomies of the variety of religious space, structures, rhetoric, liturgies, body movements, and gestures.
