#teachertipsCOVID19: How Teachers Used Visual Media to Create Communities during a Pandemic

Abstract

Teachers are considered and recognized as frontline and essential workers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers were forced abruptly into a mixture of online, hybrid, and in-person learning spaces. The current researcher uses a social media-focused analysis of a hashtag that teachers used to collaborate in navigating teaching during this unprecedented time. Results show how teachers used images to share tips and advice, but also emotional challenges of doing this work during the pandemic.
