We highlight the role of students in improving maternal and child health in families at Wad Medani city. A cross-sectional survey using a pretested questionnaire interviewing the mothers in the catchment area of the health centers with 120 families was studied. Different maternal and child health statuses were addressed. Under five children were in 80 families. The students detected incomplete vaccination in 25%, all of them were fully vaccinated and weighed them using the road to health chart. The students advised them how to feed their children according to age. Malaria, pneumonia and diarrhea were detected among under five children. The students send them to the health centers, followed them at home, educated them regarding prevention and control of these diseases. The complicated cases were referred to hospital. Pregnant women were 30%. Students provided health education about ANC and told them about the frequency of ANC visits and vaccinated them against tetanus. They also educated them to prepare and described the appropriate attachment and techniques of breast feeding and personal hygiene. The students provided services regarding maternal and child health.
