Creating Space for the “How” of Democratic Health Research: The Journal of Participatory Research Methods

Abstract

We are the founders and Co-Editors of the Journal of Participatory Research Methods (JPRM). JPRM is a transdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open access journal that is focused on the methods, techniques and processes of participatory research, evaluation, and design. JPRM publishes articles on every stage of participatory research but focuses on the nuts-and-bolts and concrete tools involved in conducting the research rather than on the findings and outcomes of the work. In this innovation showcase, we present examples representing the scope of JPRM article content, the geographic range of JPRM authors, and the types of manuscripts we publish. We also provide individualized guidance to participants on translating their participatory research methods into manuscripts for JPRM.
