Advancing Health Knowledge in Nigeria: Impact of Educational Initiatives on Public Health

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to assess how digital health technologies might enhance Nigeria’s public health system, with an emphasis on care quality and accessibility in both urban and rural locations. The research used a mixed-methods approach, integrating qualitative surveys and interviews with healthcare practitioners and patients in different locations of Nigeria with quantitative data analysis of health services before and after digital intervention. To solve these problems, the study looks at how digital health technologies—such as telemedicine, mobile health applications, and electronic medical records—are used in Nigeria. It also looks at the differences in healthcare access and resources in the country. The research evaluates digital literacy, internet access, and infrastructure, all of which have an impact on how successful these technologies are. Preliminary results show that electronic medical interventions have considerably increased illness tracking, streamlined health data management, and reduced access to healthcare in rural places. Digital literacy issues and infrastructure constraints, for example, continue to be major obstacles. According to the study’s conclusion, while electronic health records present a viable avenue for transforming healthcare in Nigeria, its full potential can only be realized with coordinated efforts to improve infrastructure, promote public-private partnerships, and raise digital literacy levels. The results highlight how digital innovations might help Nigeria achieve its public health goals and align them with the aspirations of global health democracy.
