Me, Mycelium, and I: Exploring the Implications of Interior Design within Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy

Abstract

With a new understanding of mental health guidelines and practices, this paper proposes re-imagining a mental health treatment centre that embraces a holistic approach to treatment and care. It pairs unconventional and innovative modern psychiatric treatments such as Nature Assisted Healing and Psychedelic Psychotherapy with established design theories, like Biophilic and Salutogenic Design, to create a centre where the root causes of the mental health issues can be treated, rather than simply the symptoms.
