Information Assurance, Privacy, Cybersecurity in Asia Pacific - New Legal Landscape in 2022: China Privacy Cyber Laws Lead the Way

Abstract

Information Assurance, Privacy and Cybersecurity must be aligned with “law of the land” as well as global best practices. At the same time pandemic response requires changes to social and technological approaches, potentially including ‘vaccine passports,’ different regions have responded differently. This is a study which looks at public private collaborations to share pandimc data, whilst still protecing privacy, in developed and developing IT and IT regulatory markets. Semi Structured Interviews are used to investigate Key moderating variables, and study examined governance, compliance, and IT audit in the cyber and IT security areas. Methods compare, based on capability maturity model approaches the growing compliance in such regions as African subcontinent, Asia, (especially China), and S Asia with more developed cyber and privacy regulatory regimes. Africa and Asia are seeing new laws and regulations ,supplementing ISO and NIST global best practices. To globally connected, collaboration around global (COVID, SARS), regional (Ebola, Malaria) needs to embrace innovation, but also collaborate with protective factors around privacy and cyber hygiene.
