The Importance of Mental Health

Abstract

Mental health is defined as the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of somebody. It affects how thinking, feeling, and acting. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Millions of people are affected by mental health conditions every year. Globally, more than 300 million people suffer from depression, and 260 million suffer from anxiety disorders—many of whom live with both conditions. A study by the World Health Organization found that such disorders cost the global economy $1 trillion in lost productivity each year. It is turning into an obligation for us to pay attention to it. The governments need to provide or facilitate some good methods of check-up to the individuals, trying the most to maintain good positive health.
