Spatial Social Identity: The Transformation of a Protected Forest into a Living Laboratory: Case Study Bosque Protector "La Prosperina"

Abstract

This research describes the participatory intervention through practices applied in the specific activities of the Protective Forest “La Prosperina” program. The objective of the study is to address the transformation suffered by the subject-object of research from thought and practice in projects focused on individual environmental concern as collective needs through co-design. The importance of this research is based on the lack of cooperative identity and social empowerment in the conservation of protected areas. The work is interdisciplinary in nature, placing design in the critical role between practices and actions based on cross-learning, offering new alternatives from collective creativity. The research process took place under a mixed analysis through multiple interactions of dialogue tables, interviews and questionnaires, resulting in social empowerment, the new community perception of the forest as a living laboratory, emphasizing scientific, technological, technical and communication experience.
