Description

Welcome to the micro-site for the Eleventh International Conference on The Constructed Environment.

Founded in 2010, The Constructed Environment Research Network is brought together by a common shared interest in human configurations of the environment and the interactions among the constructed, social, and natural environments. As a Research Network, we are defined by our scope and concerns and motivated to build strategies for action framed by our shared themes and tensions.

The Eleventh International Conference on The Constructed Environment calls for research addressing the following annual themes and special focus:

  • 2021 Special Focus - Building the Anthropocene

  • Theme 1: The Design of Space and Place

  • Theme 2: Constructing the Environment

  • Theme 3: Environmental Impacts

  • Theme 4: Social Impacts

We are interested in the following lines of investigation:

  • Addresses the ways in which human settlements and the built environment is conceptualized, plans represented, and competing interests negotiated.

  • Examining the processes of constructing buildings and creating landscapes.

  • Exploring questions of sustainability in the constructed environment.

  • Investigating the social life of constructed environments.

Constructed Environment Research Network also supports a book imprint and a collection of journals.
