Creating Spaces in Which Community and Nature Thrive: How Art-led Research Practices Deepen Understanding of People and Their Relationships to Place

Abstract

People are the sum of their stories, not statistics. Yet the creation or revitalization of physical spaces rarely takes these stories into account. This study explores methodology and theories that employ art and culture as the lens through which data is interpreted, to share knowledge about people and their desires for places where they want to spend their time, and the ability of these stories to interconnect and create thriving communities and experiences.
