Abstract
The entrance of city is the first place every person comes into when entering a city. Therefore the first image of city is made here. It may be considered a sort of shop window. What is called an entrance for Iran is not a good appearance. It causes negative feelings for those arriving. People want to see what they have something positive that they imagine about the city and the entrance should be as the same. This applied research introduces positive entrances for cities and compares them to past parts and pathology. It is based on researching changes from past and comparison. Using a control method I consider the current condition of westerner and eastern entrances of Sari city. The results show that lack of attention in planning and development causes them to lack identity and meet symbolic expectations.
