Evaluating User Behavior & Satisfaction In a Green Office Building

Abstract

This research paper aims to present user behavior and satisfaction in a green building. The focus is on the interaction between users and the building, specifically, how different, built and un-built break-out spaces in a green building influence the user behavior. Environmental variables like day lighting, visual connectivity, and workspace use pattern and overall satisfaction are correlated to the building design. Post-occupancy evaluation was conducted in a LEED Platinum rated Office building. Qualitative questionnaire surveys with a random 100 samples was conducted to evaluate the user behavior and satisfaction. Walk-through observation was carried out to study only the user behavior indoor as well as outdoor. Quantitative readings were taken to further inter-relate to the survey results.
