Green Structures in High Rise Construction: Application and Functionality

Abstract

Green structures refer to both the construction and processes that are environmentally accountable and resource efficient throughout its life-cycle. This structure’s life-cycle includes the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition stages and progressions. Likewise, green structures, such as buildings, are determined based on their sustainability procedures. Such procedures thus are focused on the environmental efficiencies of the like structures. Furthermore, these processes include the participation of manufacturing of recycled materials, structure erection methods together with its overall operations. The operations of green structures consider the overall evaluation of the buildings, together with their inclusive application and functionality processes and techniques. Moreover, these processes and techniques are imperative considerations as a part of sustainability measurement. Conversely, this measurement is a particularly essential concern, specifically for the high rise construction. Consequently, the considerations of green structures for high rise construction need to be carefully considered at the both application and functionality positions. Such positions thus need to carefully advocate the key factors that are involved in the life-cycle of the green structures. Green structure’s overall benefits would not only include an environmentally-friendly life-cycle, but also the creation of more efficient buildings. Accordingly, this paper discusses the importance of pertinence and pursuance of green structures for the high rise construction. This paper will examine a number of high rise buildings to further evaluate the utilization of environmentally-friendly and efficient buildings, together with the determination of key factors that are involved in the life-cycle of green structures. In shaping such key factors, green structures applications and functionalities will be carefully probed.
