The Meaning of the Meaning of Work: Are We Ready for a Post-work Future?

Abstract

This workshop explores conventional use of the concept of ‘meaning’ individuals and organisations ascribe to ‘work’. Using Natural Language Processing I have analysed LinkedIn posts and comments identifying common sentiment surrounding the meaning of work. The workshop invites participants to engage with the meaning of the ‘meaning of work’. In light of developments in AI and labour saving technology, this workshop aims to gauge readiness, identify challenges, or alternatives for a post-work future.
