China's Alternative Moral Economy: A People's Artificial Intelligence?

Abstract

China is advancing its Artificial Intelligence research and application. This talk will draw on research in Beijing, China with IT companies developing AI for use in Social Media and more generally. The paper asks what kind of moral economy framework is emerging in China that differs from the liberal democratic perspective that dominates US and Western European analysis.
