Physical Education Teachers’ Readiness to Teach Students with Additional Needs

Abstract

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the Philippines mandates that Physical Education teachers provide activities to students with additional needs (SWANs) to promote inclusivity. The main objective of this descriptive-survey study is to determine teachers’ readiness to teach students with special needs. After conducting the survey and based on the findings, it was observed that the teachers are slightly skilled in teaching students with additional needs. In this regard, it is recommended that trainings and seminars be conducted to equip the teachers thereby making them ready to teach students with additional needs.
