Abstract
Colombia is a country with a long history of conflict and violence that have affect youth nationwide. Colombianitos Foundation (CF) is a youth development through sport foundation based on school and community. Limited research has been reported related to the influence of youth educational foundations through sport in countries at global south. The objective of this research is to investigate the perceived impact and characteristics of their programming for optimize positive social-psychological outcomes through the voices of their administrative staff and coaches. The current research was conducted through an extensive content analysis of secondary sources of information on their youth programming nationwide; followed by twenty-eight in-depth semi-structured interviews with programme administrators (n=15, 4M-11F) and coaches (n=13, 9M-4F) around five geographical regions. The results established using the Sport for Development Theory -SFDT- guidelines show that CF foster a ripple effect inside the community through their programming. Three major themes emerged from the data analysis: i) human capital, ii) societal capital and iii) program characteristics that evidence the sustainable and impactful CF pedagogical programming.
