Abstract
This study explores the influences of the Sports Communication Talent Development Program (SCTDP) policy in Taiwan on sports broadcasting. Using qualitative research methods and drawing on Basil Bernstein’s knowledge reproduction theory, the study analyzes the policy discourse, recontextualization, and implementation of the SCTDP through literature analysis and interviews. The findings suggest including limited funding for equipment and enhancing the sports events knowledge in sports broadcasting and highlight the importance of effective planning and evaluation to bridge the gap between policy and implementation, providing insights for policymakers to enhance the program’s effectiveness in nurturing sports communication talent.
