Abstract
Use of media (video/animation) has long been used in sport by coaches and sport scientists to analyse performance, aid technical skill acquisition and for learning team tactics. But poorly designed media can actually impede player learning. This research is part of a larger PhD study looking into the use of media by sports educators. Most notably, how to design coaching media effectively to exploit its deep-learning potential among expert learners, how to instruct sports educators to create effective media content to foster deep-learning and finally how to make the process manageable and cost-effective for coaches and organisations.
