Abstract
This paper focuses on how awareness of child abuse and neglect hindered sportsmanship in football. The paper highlights two major incidents of compassion and neglect in two different countries in two different tournaments. One incident where a player died during play and the tournament was called off and another tournament where an incident of child abuse was ignored and the organizers went ahead and celebrated in absolute neglect. One indent demonstrated the triumph of humanity where compassion skyrocketed and the other where humanity failed and compassion nose-dived.
