Abstract
Most societies in modern time is evolving into more and more multi racial and diverse societies. And this come with its unique challenges for sport managers and stakeholder to manage. The complexity is more pronounced from societies that have experienced racial discrimination or apartheid repression to actually triumph pass the historical antecedents and challenges of the past to advanced into the spheres of harnessing her full potentials withing its structural setting as well among the community of nations in the competitive environment of the 21st century. The current study explored the stakeholder perceptions of transformation policy implementation in football and rugby federations in South Africa. It adopted a mixed method designed to collect quantitative data from selected players and fans, while used in depth interviews to obtained data from policy makers and club managers in 4 out of the 9 provinces. The population size of the study was 1010 respondents that participated in the survey. The outcomes of the study show a significant resistance and poor infrastructures inhibiting the rate of transformation which affect the level of social integration and cohesion since the demised of apartheid in South Africa.
