Universala Esports: How the Video Games Kids are Playing Every Day Can Still Create Learning Environments

Abstract

Universala Esports is a startup working in education and esports. We are creating proprietary curriculum, using different esports as the base, while teaching middle and high school students tangible and interpersonal skill sets through team building and mentoring. We are showing parents and educators that children learn best while stimulated and engaged, and we can bring what we want to teach in a classroom to a game they already find engaging using the existing social, economic, and game mechanics. We accomplish this by implementing our proprietary curriculum in universities, public schools, tech incubators, and any learning institution with capacity for high-end gaming equipment. We teach skills in film editing, game design, programming and coding, and the leadership of being on a team striving toward a common goal. Esports are the future of competition, and universala wants to create a meaningful learning environment around this competition.
