Abstract
Every year high school seniors are tasked with answering traditional questions in order to find the “right fit” for college. However, student-athletes have an added task in finding the “right fit” – one that includes their athletic profile. Educators need to be equipped with guiding principles that will empower student-athletes and their families’ with the autonomy to make the most informed decision possible regarding the future. In addition, this will serve as a decision-making model and thought process for University Athletic Departments to utilize for increasing retention and graduation rates of incoming student-athletes.
