Sedentary Lifestyle and Recommended Physical Activity in High School Students with Mental Retardation

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of sedentary lifestyle among high school students with mental retardation and recommend physical activities. Participants will be 60 high school students with mental retardation (30 females, 30 males; M of age = 22).The descriptive survey research design will be used in this study, while purposive sampling technique will be used to select a total of sixty (60) mentally retarded participants. A self developed instrument which will pass through expert evaluation for reliability and validity will be used for data collection. The descriptive statistics of frequency counts and percentages will be used to analyze the demographic data while the inferential statistics of Chi-Square will be used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance.
