Extent and Fostering Sustainable Knowledge-based Economic Transformation by Enrolment in Tertiary Education

Abstract

It is evident that knowledge-based economic transformation opens up tremendous opportunities and mediates the economic as well as educational discrepancies among countries. With this approach, the changing of educational forms such as the development of information and communication technologies, information structure, knowledge-based educational system, and educational architecture can lead a country transformative educational structure. However, in developing countries like Bangladesh, enrolment in tertiary education is very low, and a knowledge-based education system is yet to introduce. Based on the existing gap, this paper highlighted how effective use of the knowledge-based educational system in tertiary education accelerates sustainable knowledge-based economic as well as educational transformation in Bangladesh. In this regard, an in-depth case study has been conducted to ascertain the issues and obstacles that may hinder to the improved knowledge-based educational system and the solutions on it. Research suggests the implementation of knowledge-based educational systems has both merits, and its practical application in higher education further may lead the country’s changing forms of development as well as an approach to best fit institutional strategy for further evolution.
