How Do End-users Really Feel about Our Mediated Messages?: Using Technology to Move Past Self-report Data View Digital Media
Innovation Showcase Emma Bishop, Stephen McNeill
For years, communication research has depended on self-report data. Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) can measure stress levels and relaxation in a closed loop system. Diverse, easy to use apps make this technology readily available and offer a range of uses such as: education (K-12 and higher education), corporate wellness, public relations message testing, research, theory testing, and work with corporate and business-to-business partners. Topics, such as measuring stress levels in the classroom and workplace are discussed. Original GSR (PIP-brand specific) case studies, including client campaigns and fear appeal research, are presented.
