Abstract

In a group of university students, this research was aimed at exploring internet addiction. The analysts uses correlational methods for surveys focused on the online dependency level established by Young (1996), with the consent of 800 students at undergraduate level. Factor study of self-report data indicated that addiction to social media has three distinct dimensions. These dimensions are linked positively to the (i) social media experience of users; (ii) time spent on social media and (iii) their happiness.
