Psychological and Social Aspects in Spanish TV Drama Series, 1990-2010

Abstract

Spanish TV series in the 90’s and in the first decade of the twenty-first century began to reflect the new society that was arising, and amongst the principal concerns the social and psychological aspects of human relations were an important issue. In this paper we analyze several TV series broadcast between 1990 and 2010 to determine how these social concerns are reflected in TV fiction shows, and how the different social classes are represented. Finally, conclusions are drawn regarding how these fictions reflect an increasing awareness of social aspects of life.
