The Changing Dimensions of the Media Profession

Abstract

My research is qualitative study on the changing dimensions of journalism. The study focuses on print, radio, and television journalism. The population of the study group is diverse in age ranging from the mid twenties to over sixty years of age. A common theme to discuss for this population is if they have shifted their careers from one form of journalism to another. I also interview at least one general manager from the local (Houston, Texas) NBC network to get their view of media management. Additionally, I incorporate content from interviews with professors who teach journalism at Texas A&M University and the University of Houston.
