Abstract
This study assesses the quality of the government website. An experimental government website was built in four versions. The first one contained all standards of the e-participation, e-information, and e-services. The second version was designed without the e-information standard. Third version was designed without the e-participation standard. The fourth version was designed without the e-services standard. Four communication students experimental groups were conducted to measure the effects of these standards on the users’ perception about website quality and to examine the differences among the groups. The study also explored the role of e-participation in engaging the users in government decision making process. All groups were exposed to a short film about the government website, then they were enabled to use the site inside the College of Communication, University of Sharjah lab. An experimental scale was conducted to measure the results. Findings of the study are discussed.
