Abstract
Freedom of speech and democracy are two concepts which are familiar in the recent years in terms of occurring simultaneously. Rising of social media in digital era provided a unique opportunity to promote freedom of speech. People can comment on any issue with the less limitation. They protest against politicians and officials easier that any time before. The fake news crisis is the result of broad space for any individuals and media to publish news. The study explores how this kind of freedom of speech can lead societies to greater democratic and/or turning toward chaos.
