Abstract
The involvement of women in politics in Nigeria and other African countries remains a very critical problem. This is because in most situations, the political process is so violent that most women find it difficult to participate. More importantly, because of cultural limitations casting women involved in politics as a taboo, many women prefer to voluntarily exclude themselves from the political process. Therefore, it becomes critical to examine some effective way of reaching out to women through alternative media to sensitize them on the need to become politically conscious and involved in the political process. The use of alternative media, particularly through social media and town hall meetings is considered and recommended.
