The History of African Ancient and Modern African Mass Communication

Abstract

This survey of the ancient and modern mass communication in Ethiopia is the outcome of research conducted for about four years. The research is a result of a collective endeavor to which a number of people have contributed by sharing their vision, enthusiasm, experience, and knowledge. Ethiopia is the only African nation with its own script and a history of ancient literary heritage, making it one of the countries of the ancient civilized world. In this long period of literary activity the country was able to accumulate ancient traditional and modern mass communication. This research study explores and invites informed discussion on the trends of status of the African mass communication landscape.
