Abstract
Since Donald Trump shouted “you are fake news!” at reporters, the phrase has taken on a life of its own. However, “fake news” has been and continues to be a plague on democracy. Individuals, corporations, and governments have generated and disseminated fake news throughout human history. This presentation provides a complete picture of fake news, its effectiveness, and how we can save democracy.
