Researchers’ Strategies for Sharing & Storing Data across Academic Social Networking Sites

Abstract

The main purpose of our study is to analyze the researchers’ management and decision-making process regarding Sharing & Storing Data across Academic Social Networking Sites, and examine the factors and variables that affect their strategies, choices, and decisions, like: (impression management, privacy strategies, affiliation, specialization … etc.), depending on structural equation model. We will also assess why, where, how and with what they practice these actions across the (ANSs) platforms in order to interpret the motivations, opportunities, and risks involving the sharing & storing data on these specialized networks and include a model for that process. Our empirical study will be conducted through the distribution of the E-survey to (400) researcher working in Egypt and United Arab Emirates. The sample will divided into two groups of researchers -Arab and None-Arabs - in order to distinguish between the characteristics and practices of the two groups, and determine the digital divide level among researchers in the two groups towards the sharing and storing process in the academic networking sites.
