What Do Children Copy from Media?

Abstract

Today, television as the most common and popular medium has a direct or indirect influence on the mind, culture, thought, and character of a child. On the other hand, if we consider the constructive and useful effect of this social medium, it could be a very useful instrument in the service of children’s education. If in the past children copied the behaviors of adults and their way of life, today children are mostly under the influence of television. Its programs shape children’s behavior and character. One of the approaches of this effect is literature and the way of talking in children. Therefore, this paper by analyzing materials and within a theoretical framework tries to answer the following questions: to what extent does a child copies television and to what extent does this copying influence a child’s character and belief? Finally, the study explores the spoken literature of a child, asking to what extent they are under the influence of social media. The paper has used the documentary method as well as library research.
