Abstract

Minasa is a cookie and a kind of delicacy that has become a socio-cultural emblem in the town of Bustos, Bulacan. This paper shares the traditional procedures of Minasa where women are the protagonist in preparing and cooking. The economic and socio-cultural influence of Minasa cookies up to the celebration of the Minasa Festival on the life of Bustosenyos are also highlighted. Mixed method research is used to attain a comprehensive output of the study. The results show that Minasa culture remains sustainable as the materials and advocates uphold it. Culturally, the festival creates a platform for the people to recount their historical past. Economically, the celebration of the festival increases the economic activities of the community especially during the festival period in which family gatherings and taking stock occur.
