Transformation of Food Systems through Game Changers

Abstract

The UN Food systems summit in 2021 was the world’s first global summit to focus entirely on transforming global, regional, national and sub national food systems. The summit arranged its discussions around five action tracks all seeking to transform and improve sustainability of food systems from different angles. Each action track received proposals and ideas from numerous stakeholders, so called game changing solutions. There is a wealth of information, innovation and opportunity embedded in these solutions, which have now migrated to be part of the solution clusters and game changing propositions under the oversight of the UN Food Systems Summit coordination Hub. This paper explores the possibilities of game changing solutions and linkages to NDC priorities of the respective countries within each solution and seeks to propose an investment platform and incubator mechanism marketplace to buy and sell the game changing propositions, mature them overtime in investment incubators and finally develop and implement the ideas as game changing projects and programmes in countries and regions. The study concludes with a roadmap and contextual design of the investment platform and incubator mechanism as an innovative and practical step in solving the food systems crises.
