Abstract
Food is fundamental to French identity. Under attack for racism, racial identity and colonialism, this study purports to identify and critique superficial Whiteness studies that do not provide for evidence of such accusations. To do so it identifies how French and European Law defend an idea of food which is non discriminatory, non racial, and supportive of a universal eating culture.
