Gardens and Healthy Choices: Teaching Nutrition in the Elementary Classroom

Abstract

This workshop will explore engaging and interactive ways to present nutrition in the elementary classroom. We will consider the best ways to begin a simple garden and how to harvest it. Participants will investigate a unique way to teach nutrition while tapping into different cultures. Each participant will create an individualized lesson to reflect the students they will be reaching.
